For Sally Uhlmann, food has always played a central role. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and began growing food and cooking at a very young age. Sally’s cooking has always been punctuated with an equal measure of passion and accessibility. Her life is filled with the pleasures of food, entertaining, travel, community, family, and friends. Sally has enjoyed several successful careers and pastimes, including serving as the food and entertaining editor for Kansas City Magazine and Home Design Magazine.
In 2020, she published her award-winning cookbook, Just Cook with Sally. She continues to craft recipes and weaving narratives that highlight the magical connection between food, travel and life. write stories about the intersection of food and travel. Add to that mix, she is working on a memoir of how she rebuilt her life following the death of her beloved husband.
Sally’s cookbook, Just Cook with Sally, was recognized with a silver award from the Independent Book Publishers Association in the best 2020 cookbook category.
