French Breakfast Radishes
French Breakfast Radishes are a quick appetizer—unless, of course, you’re growing the radishes. If you plant only one vegetable in your garden, make it these. I plant a new crop every couple of weeks throughout the season. Of course, store-bought radishes work as a substitute.
French Breakfast Radishes
Serve 3 to 4 radishes per person
Clean the radishes, cutting off most of the leaves but leave a few as a handle to pick up with your fingers and for visual appeal.
Arrange on a serving dish with a pat of butter alongside a small mound of salt. I like to use nasturtium leaves as a holder for the butter and salt, and then decorate the tray with nasturtium flowers.
Sally Uhlmann’s passion for cooking led her to publish a memoir-style cookbook, “Just Cook with Sally.” She splits her time between the States and her farmhouse in Cortona, Italy, when she is not traveling the world. Sally cooks, develops recipes, and writes stories—mostly about the intersection of food, travel, and her life.
